Cornflower Blue

$15.00

Light blue glass was used before printed labels were adhered to bottles. This cornflower blue is one of the most common colors of sea glass found today. Perhaps that is why the classic blue of this bead is so desirable.

The handmade glass flameworked bead has an outside dimension of approximately 16mm and a hole size of approx. 4.25mm. Lined with a sterling silver (.925) core, the bead is also etched with sand giving it a matte finish.

**Please note that each bead is individually hand crafted and some slight differences will occur. Sizes and designs may vary slightly. The pictured chain is not included but is available for purchase here.

The Sea Glass Collection
Sea glass is fascinating. To imagine that what was once glass, considered trash and discarded, then tumbled and smoothed over time by water, waves and sand, only to become a beautiful frosted treasure. There is rich history and even a touch of folklore in each and every unique piece.  It has been said that when a sailor dies at sea, a mermaid cries and her tears wash up on shore in the form of a piece of colorful sea glass or a “mermaid tear.”

These beads are reminiscent of what one might find on a sea glass treasure hunt. Each bead is individually etched with sand, much like they would be in nature.
