Bluebonnet
Bluebonnet
Named for its color and resemblance to a woman's sunbonnet, the Bluebonnet has a rich history. Legend has it that when a young Native American girl sacrificed her favorite doll, given to her by her deceased parents, to the gods in time of drought, the skies opened up and rains fell once again. The first flower to emerge was the Bluebonnet and they filled the baron fields. This colorful bead is indicative of gardens full of colorful flowers, including the Bluebonnet.
This set includes three handcrafted flameworked glass beads. The center focal bead comes with two aqua blue glass accent beads. The outside dimension of the focal bead measures approximately 17mm with a hole size of approx. 3.25mm. The accent beads are approx. 10mm with a hole of approx. 3.25mm.
**Please note that each bead is individually hand crafted and some slight differences will occur. Sizes and designs may vary slightly. The pictured chain is also not included but is available for purchase here.
The Floral Garden Collection
People plant gardens for many reasons: to please the soul, to challenge the elements, for novelty, or for nostalgia, but mostly for the joy in seeing them grow. Gardening refreshes the soul. Not only is it therapeutic, but it is also incredibly fulfilling. Nothing compares to the enjoyment of planting, nurturing and reaping what one sows.
I get the same sort of enjoyment out of making these beads. Choosing color schemes that resemble the flowers I remember from my childhood and still plant in my gardens today, nurturing them through the process of flameworking and feeling completely fulfilled when opening the kiln and seeing the beautiful results.
